Location: At the corner of what is now Harrison Ave. (then Swamp Road or the "Public Road which divides the Townships of Caldwell and Livingston") and Cortland Street.
Description: "Beginning at the northeasterly corner of John Sigler's land and in the southerly line of the public road which divides the Townships of Caldwell and Livingston and running from thence in an easterly course 110 ft. along the line of said public road to a stake and the corner of a road 40 ft. wide (now staked)* which the said John Nealy hereby covenants and agrees to open (on his land and at his expense) and from thence southerly along the westerly line of the said new road 100 ft. to a stake and the line of lands of the said John Nealy and from thence westerly along the line of the said John Nealy's land 110 ft. to the line of the aforesaid John Sigler's land and thence northerly along said Sigler's line 100 ft. to the place of beginning."
*Note: Cortland Street was to be cut through in 1873 and was staked by Sept. 15, the date of this deed. Most likely the street was cut through in the Spring of 1874, up to what is now Park Street. (LAR.)
