THE LAST BUILDING AT PACKERTON YARDS
This section continues with the construction of the framework of the Packerton building:Stairs to the second floor are shown without the
stairwell walls in place.
originally had two openings. One opening was next to the south wall and one
near the west wall (not show in this image), to enter the first floor area.
When a large compressor was added at a later time, the opening near the west
wall was bricked in

Stairwell-2 with staircase walls in place. From
the entrance door in the west wall (not shown) directly ahead were the steps to
the second floor.
To the right was the entrance to the first floor, to the left
was a passage and small storage area next to the left wall.
An opening was made
in the inner staircase wall to allow light into the stairwell from a window in
the west wall.This image of stairwell-2 shows it with stucco
applied so the door and wall openings with moldings can be more clearly seen.
